SIZ “Mechanic” is a small industrial zone of about 40 hectares. The SIZ was officially (re-)established in 2018, and started operations in 2020. The SIZ is a former industrial site from the Soviet Union times.

SIZ "Mechanic" accommodates 38 companies, including 30 operating companies and 8 companies under construction.

​

A range of industry sectors are operating in SIZ "Mechanic", including textile and apparel, electric automotive assembly, starch producer, furniture, construction materials, metal fabrication (industrial cistern), automotive assembly and glass recycling.

​

A total of 1900 people currently work in SIZ "Mechanic", with about 1200 workers in one large textile company (Fergana Global Textile).

​

Conventional infrastructure (e.g. roads, electricity substation, water supply, telecommunications) is being provided in SIZ "Mechanic".
