Tashkent, Uzbekistan – June 20, 2025

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is organizing a Media Brunch and Press Conference on June 20, 2025, as part of the EcoExpo Central Asia 2025 at the CAEx Exhibition Centre in Tashkent.

This event is organized within the framework of the "Eco-Industrial Parks (EIP) in Uzbekistan" project, implemented by UNIDO. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

The Media Brunch aims to raise public awareness and engage the media on the progress, results, and future plans of the EIP Project in Uzbekistan, which promotes sustainable industrial development through the application of eco-industrial principles in designated pilot zones – Urgut Free Economic Zone and Mechanic Small Industrial Zone in Fergana.

The event will bring together key stakeholders including representatives of national ministries, industrial zone administrations, private sector actors, and development partners. Senior officials from UNIDO, GIZ, and the Government of Uzbekistan will share insights into how EIPs support cleaner production, resource efficiency, and green economic growth.

During the event, journalists and invited media will be presented with press materials and an opportunity for direct interaction with stakeholders. Project success stories, results from Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production (RECP) assessments, and future investment opportunities in pilot zones will be highlighted.
